ADA Webinar Series to Meet Opioid CE Requirements 2/14/18

The ADA will be hosting a free 2018 Opioid Webinar Series to help members (as well as non-member practicing dentists) meet the requirements of regulation 18VAC60-21-106.

The first webinar in this series, "Improving Opioid Prescribing: The CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain, and Considerations for Dentistry" will take place on Wednesday, February 14, at 10am Central time. This webinar will include presentations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the ADA on the current opioid epidemic and alternatives for pain management.

All participants will earn 1 hour of CE Credit.

As a reminder, any dentist who prescribes Schedules II through IV controlled substances is required by the Virginia Board of Dentistry to obtain 2 credit hours of education on pain management by March 31, 2019. This webinar also supports the ADA's statement on the Use of Opioids in the Treatment of Dental Pain

It is important to our organization that we offer our members the resources they need and that we work together to protect this profession and its patients. In recognition of the importance of this particular issue, the ADA is offering free access to these webinars, regardless of membership status. Please take advantage of this opportunity and share it with your colleagues, members or not.

Visit the ADA Center for Professional Success’s page on Preventing Opioid Abuse for additional resources and updates on this webinar series. The VDA will also post information on new webinars as they become available.
