If you think “it won’t happen to me”, we encourage you to join industry experts for a discussion about the importance of protecting your practice from data breaches, ransomware and the latest attempts to hack into your system by ever-evolving cyber criminals. By understanding threats to your data and your practice, you can implement appropriate technological safeguards and determine what kind of insurance policy best protects your practice against losses from a cyber security breach.
Objectives:
1. Understand the current cyber security landscape, the importance of protecting PHI and specific cyber security threats to healthcare providers.
2. Recognize the significance of ransomware attacks and how increasingly sophisticated attacks are rising across all industries, including healthcare.
3. Learn how to evaluate cyber security insurance policies to identify the appropriate coverage to protect your dental practice.

David Fidanza
As Chief Information Officer, David Fidanza manages the multi-state IT division at iCoreConnect. Additionally, he leads efforts to continuously improve products through strategic business partnerships and customer input. Over the course of his 30-year career in software and technology, Dave held numerous technical and management positions in both service and sales. His focus over the past 15 years has been on the design, implementation and support of Enterprise Level software solutions that focus on managing, securing, and delivering data.
Joe Gates
Joe Gates Graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in Political Science. Upon Graduation he learned he had no interest in a career in Politics or Science so he did what any sensible college graduate who needs a job does, he joined the exciting world of Insurance. Joe has been in the insurance industry for 23 years with experience on both the retail and carrier sides of the business. Joe is currently the Southeast Region Territory Manager for the Beazley Group where he spends his days discussing coverage for Privacy and Security, Tech E&O and MPL. Joe has a wife and two children, all of whom think his job sounds incredibly dull.
Andrew Gerner
E. Andrew Gerner, CFP® is President and an equity member of the insurance firm R. K. Tongue Co., Inc. He is also Principal and Founder of the investment and financial services firm Tongue | GERNER Financial Services, LLC. Mr. Gerner is a property & casualty and life & health licensed independent insurance agent and broker, a series 7 and 66 Investment Adviser, and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM. He specializes in risk management, asset protection, wealth management, retirement, and financial planning for members of the healthcare and professional services industries. He has lectured regionally to dentists, dental students, medical residents, optometrists, insurance professionals, and financial advisors on various risk management, financial, and insurance-related topics. He received undergraduate degrees in Economics and Public Policy from St. Mary’s College of Maryland where he graduated Cum Laude. Mr. Gerner continues to study professionally within the insurance and financial services industry at The College for Financial Planning. Additionally, Mr. Gerner sits on the State Administrator Advisory Board of the Professional Protector Plan® for Dentists, one of the Nation’s largest, oldest, and most respected dentist-specific professional liability and business insurance programs. His professional accomplishments and awards include State Administrator of the Year for the Professional Protector Plan® for Dentists, and membership in Guardian Life Insurance Company’s Leader’s Club and Disability Insurance Inner Circle.
