Course Description (Lecture Style Webinar): Dental implants are widely accepted as the standard of care for replacing missing teeth. Success in the implant process begins with atraumatic tooth removal and socket preservation. You will be equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to predictably remove difficult teeth, perform socket grafting procedures, and to provide a broader spectrum of treatment options for your patients. The course will provide detail on the healing properties of bone, grafting materials, instrumentation, pre and post op considerations and suggestions on improving profitability as you gain competency and confidence these procedures.
1. Review the histology of bone formation and healing

Instructor: Scott T. Keys, DDS
Upon Graduation from LSU School of Dentistry in 1996, Dr. Keys worked as an associate dentist in Shreveport, La until opening his private practice in 1999. During the early years of practice Dr. Keys was a very active member of the Ark-La-Tex Academy of General Dentistry where he was introduced to many of today’s leaders in Continuing Dental Education. His involvement in the Ark-La-Tex Academy of General Dentistry was the beginning of a life long journey in Dental Continuing Education. To date, Dr. Keys has completed over 3200 hours of continuing education in the areas of Surgical Placement and Restoration of Dental Implants, Comprehensive-Interdisciplinary Diagnosis and Treatment Planning, Cosmetic Rehabilitation, Occlusion and TMD Therapy, Treatment of Worn Dentitions, Guided Bone Regeneration Procedures (Socket Preservation and Ridge Augmentation Grafting) As well as many hours devoted to Practice and Business Management. Dr. Keys has studied under many of Dentistry’s leading clinicians including, Frank Spear, John Kois, Mike Abernathy, Michael Schuster, Henry Nichols, Ken Hebel, John Nosti and Clinical Mastery Series, as well as many others. Dr. Keys has served as an Advisory Board Member for River Cities Study Club, a Seattle Study Club, from 2004-2010, A Spear Study Club Leader from 2010-2012 and is the former SME (subject matter expert / faculty member) of the PDS Institute, where he taught Continuing Education in the disciplines of A-Traumatic Extraction and Socket / Ridge Augmentation Grafting Techniques for the General Dentist and Comprehensive Esthetically Driven Treatment Planning Through Co-Diagnosis and was named Faculty Member of the Year in 2016. He is an active member of the AGD (Academy of General Dentistry), AO (Academy of Osseointegration), ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantology). He has served as a past Leader of a Spear Faculty Club, an advisory board member of the Seattle Study Club in North Louisiana as well as a member of the LDA (Louisiana Dental Association). He is the President/Owner of Hunt And Learn Outdoors (HALO) A Dental Continuing Education company that combines big game hunting and dental continuing education. Dr. Keys and OTS Implant Solutions partner with major dental implant manufacturers and suppliers to provide hands on dental implant education seminars as well as Live Patient In-Office Surgical training for dentists who want to add dental implants to their practices as a service for their patients. Dr. Keys is an avid bow hunter and competitive archer and his love and passion for the outdoors led him to move his practice to the Texas Hill Country in 2012 and now is living his lifelong dream of private practice in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Over his 25 years of practicing dentistry, Dr Keys has owned multiple dental practices in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. In addition to maintaining a private practice, His passion for continuing dental education has led into a career of teaching and lecturing at national dental conferences and seminars as well as instructing both hands on and live implant surgical placement training. Dr Keys currently holds active dental licenses in LA, TX and CO as well as previously in OK. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, bow hunting big game, and playing golf. He is a single parent and full time father of his 3 daughters Kinley (17), Avri (15) and Braelyn (9).
