Thank you to the 215 dental volunteers who made Grundy MOM 2017 a success! This was the 96th MOM held in Virginia since 2000. Some 371 Southwest Virginia residents received much needed dental care which included 371 exams, 114 cleanings and fluoride varnishes, 1,168 extractions, 487 fillings, 43 Benchmark dentures, 15 root canals, 345 x-rays and various other dental treatment. All total, 2,676 dental procedures were performed during the 1 ½ day clinic at Riverview Elementary and Middles School (15 short hours).
We wish to extend our appreciation to each and every volunteer who donated their time and talents to make Grundy MOM possible. These would include VCU School of Dentistry and Dental Hygiene, Ray Allen and the NC Dental Society, Dr. Steve Alouf, Dr. Scott Miller and the Benchmark Dental Team, Dr. Steve Forte and Lisa (Endodontics), Dr. Tom Cooke (Trailboss) and Dr. Cassidy Turner (Trailboss), Bill Hall (Master Tech), Frannie Minton and Sandy Stiltner, Buchanan County Board of Supervisors, and Riverview Elementary and Middle School.
In 2018 MOM will have a special Celebration of the 100th MOM, to be held in Wise County July 20-22. We hope you will make time to participate in this and other upcoming projects.
