Job Description (President Elect): The president is a convener within the organization. Their focus is on understanding the organizational workings of the VDA (by reading its bylaws) and developing relationships with state and component leadership and staff, as well as committee (or council) chairs so that he or she can effectively carry out the responsibilities of the president during the subsequent year.

Job Description (President): The president is voice of the members and the link between the ADA, the state organization, board members, component leadership and student networks.  The president is the spokesperson for statewide initiatives during his or her term and works closely with component leadership, as well as committee chairs, to make sure program details and expectations are communicated and understood by those executing them.  The president is also the state’s eyes and ears, collecting programmatic cues from the ADA and other state associations.

Job Description: The secretary-treasurer is the supervisor of all monies and dues of the VDA, as well as payment of all expenses as authorized by the Board of Directors. As a member of the Board, provides an annual financial report to the Board and House of Delegates.

Job Description: Attend all the regular sessions of the House of Delegates, the District caucuses, and such other meetings as the chair of the Delegation shall designate. Serves a three year term.

Job Description: Committee, council and task force members provide guidance and support to the chair.  That includes attending committee meetings and potentially steering sub-committees within the entity.  These groups meet anywhere from 2-8 times a year, depending on the committee.  Member attendance is appreciated.

This is a position appointed by the President/President Elect.

Job Description: This person is responsible for steering the direction of the assigned committee, council or task force.  That includes: establishing an annual budget, identifying key initiatives in collaboration with the executive director, collaborating with entity members on execution and reporting back to the Board and House of Delegates on your results.  These entities meet anywhere from 2-8 times a year, depending on the committee.  Chair attendance is required at each meeting.
