Community Dental Health Coordinator Program Cohort Begins 9/11/23

Online Education Cohort begins 9/11/23 and concludes 7/14/24, at a fee of $183

For many people, gaining access to dental care isn’t simply a matter of finding the nearest dentist. Some may face language and cultural issues that keep them from connecting with dental providers. Others may lack the insurance coverage, transportation or child care that would make it easier for them to visit the dentist.

The ADA has developed an online training program for dental professionals who want to help people overcome these potential barriers. Community Dental Health Coordinators (CDHCs) play a meaningful role in improving the oral health of individuals and families in areas where many aren’t receiving the care they need.

Alamance Community College is offering this program beginning Sept. 11, 2023 and concluding July 14, 2024.

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
  • Dental Assistant II (DAII) and/ or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA)
  • Be a graduate of a ADA CODA accredited dental assisting program

OR

  • Have a minimum of two years (3,000 hours) work experience as a chairside dental assistant.
