VDA FELLOWS
VDA Fellows is a class of membership that is reserved as an honor for those who, by special devotion to the VDA and to the profession of dentistry, have given freely of their time and energies to the end that the welfare of all has been promoted. A Fellow nominee must be an active, life or retired member of the Virginia Dental Association for at least 7 years. Military and or federal service personnel having served a minimum of 2 years active duty and maintaining active membership in the ADA may be considered for VDA Fellowship after 5 years of VDA service.
Submit Fellows nominations by June 13.
Nominations are reviewed by the VDA Fellows Selection Committee and those meeting the qualifications, as stated in the Fellows Bylaws, are elected to the Fellowship by the Committee. Newly elected Fellows will be announced at the 2022 Virginia Dental Showcase/Annual Meeting to be held at the Williamsburg Lodge, September 15-18.
VDA AWARDS
Do you know someone deserving special recognition in the field of dentistry? Every September at the VDA Annual Meeting the VDA Awards are presented to recipients making exemplary contributions to our profession.

Categories:
- Dental Team Member Award – Nominee must be a dental team member of a VDA dentist. This award may be presented to multiple recipients only when worthy candidates are recognized. The nominee(s) will demonstrate that he/she holds the profession of dentistry in highest regard, promotes the interest and betterment of the profession through the team concept of dentistry and has five or more years of experience in the dental field.
- New Dentist Award – This award is presented to a VDA member who has been in practice ten years or less. The award is only presented when a worthy candidate is recognized. The nominee must have demonstrated leadership qualities through service to dentistry.
- Special Service Award – This award is presented to a non-dentist who has demonstrated outstanding service, support and dedication to the profession of dentistry. This award is presented when a worthy candidate is recognized.
