Dental team members who work in the front office are the first and last impressions patients have when they visit, the front lines of understanding and managing insurance and billing issues, and just like VDA member dentists, they’re operating in a business and regulatory landscape that continues to change.
Through the Virginia Dental Academy’s Certified Dental Office Professional program, we’re offering a combined curriculum of in-person and virtual learning that will equip practice managers and other team members with the tools to thrive professionally and elevate the dental practice. This launch is the culmination of months of discussions with our members, practice managers and outside experts to ensure we’re covering the skills and knowledge needed for practice success.
The certification program consists of 15 hours of continuing education completed both in-person and online. The 2023-2024 program will kick off at the Showcase in Norfolk with 3 courses (5 CE hours), will continue with on-demand online CE (5 hours) to be completed between September 2023-September 2024 and will conclude with three additional courses (5 hours) at the 2024 Showcase at the Greenbrier. Following completion of the program, participants will be awarded their Dental Office Professional Certificate.
In addition to continuing education, the program will provide participants with a peer group to share ideas, learn new techniques and form a strong professional network.
