VDA President Dr. Frank Iuorno, Jr. will be testifying tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 27 about the impact that legislation to lift the medical malpractice cap would have on dental practices in Virginia. Senate Bill 1107 is being considered in the Committee on the Judiciary, which meets Wednesday 30 minutes after the Senate adjourns. The committee meeting will be live streamed.

The VDA has closely tracked this legislation since it was introduced and has joined a coalition of dozens of healthcare groups in strong opposition. The coalition sent letters to House and Senate leadership in December explaining the harmful impact SB 1107 would have in increasing costs and limiting access to care.
