This week the VDA sent a letter to Cheryl Roberts, Director of the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services asking DMAS to address ongoing concerns from VDA member dentists about denials of coverage and an unnecessarily time-consuming paper recredentialing process for providers in the Medicaid program. 

The VDA has raised these issues in its role on the Dental Advisory Council and will continue to look for ways to work with DMAS to improve the program moving forward.
