Virginia Dental Journal Announces Excellence Awards - Call for Submissions
The Virginia Dental Journal has published over 100 volumes and received many awards and accolades over the years. This prestige is directly related to the fact that our many contributors have continued to submit valuable content.
New in 2026, our contributors have the chance to be recognized for their efforts with the new Virginia Dental Journal Excellence Awards. The awards are designed to recognize outstanding contributions that exemplify excellence in writing, clinical relevance, and advancement of the dental profession in Virginia.
ELIGIBILITY: You are eligible for consideration if you have your article published in a 2026 issue of the Virginia Dental Journal (within volume 103).
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: September 1, 2026
AWARD CATEGORIES
Note: Award categories are used when a worthy submission is identified, and at the Journal’s discretion.
- Horizon Award – Given to research articles that advance new or innovative scientific topics in dentistry. Challenges norms or improves understanding.
- Image Award – Celebrating the humans in dentistry; everything that makes them unique, and the effects they leave on humanity and dentistry.
- The Source Award – Awarded to outstanding resources for the dental profession.
- Editor’s Choice – Awarded at the discretion of the Virginia Dental Journal’s Editor for overall excellence in writing, clarity, and impact on readers.
RECOGNITION: Awards for volume 103 (2026) will be presented at the Virginia Dental Association’s Annual Business Meeting/House of Delegates in January 2027.
