Action Needed to Support VDA Workforce Legislation
The VDA had a tremendous turnout of enthusiastic member dentists and dental students speaking with legislators last week about VDA-supported workforce bills, the importance of maintaining funding included in the budget for a new VCU School of Dentistry building, and other legislation that impacts dentistry.
The workforce bills will most likely be on the docket for their respective subcommittees to review in the next two weeks. Please see details below and let us know if you are able to take time out of your schedule to attend these meetings - your presence shows legislators that our member dentists care about and support this legislation!
- Thursdays, in House Committee Room C - 206
- Arrive by 7:30 am and expect to leave by 11:30 am
- Fridays, in Senate Room C
- Arrive by 7:30 am and expect to leave by 11:30 am
Keep in mind that there is no way of knowing exactly where our bills will be heard, so be prepared to wait — it could come up early, or it could be a few hours.

**Special Notes:
Please expect to go through security when you enter the GA building, and remember to turn off or silence your cell phones.
- VDA will support speakers making comments on behalf of the association. All others who attend on behalf of the VDA will just be expected to show support with their presence and just will need to take a seat in the room.

- Be ready to wait. We cannot know how long it will take for our bill to come up on the docket.
This will be a very important step in moving our bills through the process, and we really appreciate all who are able to take time away from their practices and other priorities to be at this meeting.
