COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This 2-hour class includes Adult CPR and AED training. Hands-only CPR is discussed. Signs and symptoms of a heart attack or stroke are covered, as well as how to handle a choking emergency. Use of a pocket mask and other hands-on skills is practiced. An American Heart Association 2-year CPR certification card is earned upon completion.
OBJECTIVES:
- Understand the key changes reflecting the latest science as outlined in the American Heart Association 2020 Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
- Demonstrate assessment of patients
- Explain Good Samaritan guidelines
- Demonstrate proper Adult CPR skills and AED use
- Demonstrate care for choking emergencies for conscious and unconscious patients
