COURSE DESCRIPTION: Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming dentistry, from diagnostic imaging and treatment planning to practice management and patient communication. This course will explore the current and emerging applications of AI within dental practice and the broader dental industry. Industry experts will discuss how AI-powered tools are being integrated into clinical workflows, how dental benefit organizations and technology companies are utilizing AI, and what dentists should consider when adopting these technologies. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how AI can enhance diagnostic accuracy, improve efficiency, and shape the future of dental care.
OBJECTIVES:
- Describe current applications of artificial intelligence in dentistry, including diagnostic imaging and clinical decision support tools.
- Evaluate the potential benefits and limitations of AI technologies in dental practice workflows.
- Discuss considerations for integrating AI solutions into dental practices while maintaining ethical and clinical standards.

Dr. Austin Westover
Dr. Austin Westover is a premier dentist in Charles Town, WV. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, Dr. Westover chose to pursue dentistry after realizing the profound impact dentists can have on both individuals and entire communities.
His passion for helping others was further strengthened through his time working at orphanages in Mexico while in college. Over the years, Dr. Westover has fallen in love with the Charles Town area, where he now proudly serves the community with high-quality dental care.
While in dental school, he was a project coordinator for the Mission of Mercy Projects, where dental care is donated to those in underprivileged communities. He continues to serve in this capacity and has received several awards for his involvement with the Mission of Mercy Projects. He loves creating lifelong relationships with patients and their families, and he is committed to helping people at all stages of dental health work towards achieving their goals.
Dr. Westover is dedicated to lifelong learning. He strives to read as much current dental literature as possible while attending as many continuing education courses as possible. He has accumulated more than 700 hours of continuing education courses, allowing him to practice all fields and aspects of dentistry at the highest standard of care.
- Completed courses at the Pankey and Spear Institutes of Dentistry
- Numerous dental certifications, including Invisalign and Hybridge certifications
- Member of several dental associations: the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Shenandoah Valley Dental Association
- Completed a residency in TMJ Therapy at the Center for Occlusal Studies
- Hundreds of hours of training in advanced Neuromuscular Orthodontic techniques
